CAREER

I grew up on the Gold Coast with my mum and sister, and at an early age I was down with mum every Saturday watching her play in the local competition. Soon I was old enough to start playing myself.

I moved to the Central Coast when I was 11 and soon started playing at Gosford, this was to prove to be an important part in my life. Through the age groups, I represented Gosford and played in many tournaments around Sydney and NSW.

In my junior career, I was ranked in the top 10 in NSW and Australia winning a number of events and playing with some real champions that went on to bigger things, like Todd Woodbridge, Renee Stubbs, Jason Stoltenburg, Richard Fromberg and many more.

At senior level, I played a number of satalite events and tried hard to make it a career on the professional circuit, but it wasn't to be. In 1989, I represented Australia at the Remington Family

International event in Switzerland. Together with John Newcombe Australia won the teams event and Mum and I lost in the final against Great Britain.

A few days after the event, Tony proposed to me and started our life together.

Today, I play in the veterans tennis events around Australia and the world. It is fantastic for me to do so as I meet so many wonderful people and make life long friends. In 2005 I won the Australian Championships in Newcastle and then the NSW state titles at Campbelltown. I was also lucky to finish the end of year ranking a world number 3.

In April 2006 I went to Durban in South Africa to compete in the World Champs. Things didn't go to plan with Australia finishing 7th and going out early in the individuals.

In 2009 I competed in the World Master Games that were held in Sydney and was succesful taking out the 40 and over singles and doubles. Adding two gold medals to my collection.
